1965
Boulevard Baptist teens, under the direction of their youth pastor, Blair Bridle, started Club 3:16 in Poe Mill. To join the club, you had to quote the verse John 3:16.They soon needed a larger meeting place and rented a house at 23 B Street in the Poe Mill community
1966
Land at 18 Hammett Street (which included an abandoned graveyard!) was sold to the growing group by Poe Mill of Burlington Industries for $1, and a 50° 50° “metal building was constructed. “Poe Mill Mission” changed its name in 1968 to Faith Baptist Church.
1981
In 1981 the church was able to lease this old Winn Dixie and turn it into a church auditorium. There was no space for Sunday school, So children were bused back to the Poe Mill location or other buildings on Buncombe that the church used for classrooms.
1987
In 1987 the building committee learned of a 36-acre tract of land at 500 West Lee Road. The church was able to purchase half of this tract with a first right of refusal to buy the second half. When another buyer wanted the remaining 18 acres in 1992, the church went ahead and purchased that also. Pastor Vaughn envisioned a “mall” concept for the buildings with a central area for fellowship.
In 1994 the church moved into the new facilities where the auditorium and office buildings were separated by an open-air courtyard with benches and planters. In 2003 the courtyard was enclosed and now serves as the atrium. In 2018 a large multi-purpose building called The Bridge was added to the campus. The Bridge houses a gymnasium/banquet room, kitchen facilities, classrooms, a large room for youth meetings, and a Fireplace Room for smaller gatherings
