Dean Kurtz
Freedom That Lasts/Outreach Pastor
Dean was raised in a pastor’s home and was saved in evangelistic meetings in his father’s church at the age of 14. He was part of a musical outreach team and through Bible studies with that group grew to love the Word of God and developed a passion for music ministry. Dean married his high school sweetheart, Brenda, in 1979 and graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College with Bachelors degrees in Bible and Music Education. He went on to earn a Masters from Pensacola Christian College and a Doctorate of Ministry from Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary.
He serves as Freedom that Lasts and Outreach Pastor helping people to grow in their love for Christ and reach out to those who need the Savior. He started a ministry called newfocus in 2008 which seeks to reach and disciple those who know they are under the grips of sinful addictions. He now gets to continue this focus through the FTL ministry at Faith Baptist Church. In 2007 Dean published a book entitled “Worship and Music in the Word.”
Dean and Brenda have two adult daughters, Sarah and Colette.
Dean’s life verse is found in II Samuel 7:18 “Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
