About Us

Dr. Michael R. Privett was reared in a Christian home outside Washington, D.C. and trusted Christ as his Savior as a young teen. While studying to be a math teacher, Michael sensed God’s call into the Gospel ministry. He completed his master of divinity at Bob Jones University in 1989 while serving as an assistant pastor at a local church in Greenville.

In 1990 as a church planter, Michael and his wife Sheri established Faith Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. In 2000 he completed a Doctor of Ministry degree with a dissertation dealing with the mission of the local church. While serving as senior pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Michael led in the planting of a daughter church, served on two church-planting mission boards, visited many mission fields, published a book, and trained national pastors in the U.S., Brazil, and Asia.

In August 2011 the Privetts moved to South Carolina, and Michael began to serve as one of the directors at Gospel Fellowship Association Missions overseeing church-planting and development both here in the U.S. as well as other parts of the world.

In July of 2019 Pastor Mike became the Vision2020 Asia & Beyond Network Associate Director.  Mike will be assisting in developing a VBN handbook, constitution and by-laws.

In January of 2021, Michael began to serve as Executive Director of Vision2020Asia, a mission agency that served primarily with national preachers in Asia.  We emphasize Accountability, Seminaries, Indigenization, & Assistance.  You can learn more by visiting www.vision2020asia.org.

The Lord has blessed the Privetts with three adult children:  Joshua, Joy and Jenna.
