About Us

Daniel Cherian was born and raised in India.  He received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord in 1967 and was called to the ministry in 1968.  He graduated from Bible College and Seminary in 1971 and accepted a position as senior pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in the city of Mysore.  In September of 1979 he left for further studies at San Francisco Baptist Theological Seminary and three summer schools at Bob Jones University.

In 1983 the Lord gave Dr. Cherian a vision for a Bible college that would train young men who were called of God to establish fundamental Baptist churches. Out of that vision was born the South Indian Baptist Bible College and Seminary.  Since then he has held the position of senior pastor at Campus Baptist Church and president of SIBBC&S.

Today there are over 600 students studying on campus. Over the years, the graduates of the college and seminary have started over 250 churches in Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Sikkim, Myanmar, and India. There is also a Christian academy (K-12) with over 300 students enrolled. Most of these students are from Hindu homes and coming from nearby villages. The college also runs an orphanage on campus where children, who have been abandoned by their parents, may be raised in a loving Christian environment.

Dr. and Mrs. Cherian have been blessed with three godly children and three grandchildren.  In 2012, they celebrated 40 years of marriage and 40 years of Christian ministry.
